Introducing *A Vontade

Today, we welcome another artisanal Japanese brand to Tempest Works: *A Vontade. Designed out of Tokyo by Kazuyuki Yamakawa, *A Vontade takes inspiration from classics in American and European military, workwear, dress, and sportswear. Despite its wide-reaching sources of inspiration, *A Vontade is committed to producing its garments in Japan.

 

*A Vontade SS22 features the exquisite fabrics, meticulous tailoring, and acute attention to detail we can rely on from the brand. Army trousers and fatigue jackets bring utilitarian functionality, but are balanced by whimsical twists like slightly iridescent fabric. The collection represents toughness and pragmatism while staying casual and comfortable. Above all, the pieces are timeless and only get better with age.

In their own words, *A Vontade says their pieces embody "both a modern sensibility and characteristic Japanese sensitivity." And even their name is inviting, translating from Portuguese as "make yourself comfortable."
