ZDA started as a brand produced in the 1950s in then-Czechoslovakia in the small town of Partizanske. The brand ceased production in the 1980s, but was then revived in 2016 by the Japanese shoe company Eye Found. This renewed ZDA collaborated with the original factory and was able to use the original soles, lasts, and machines from the brand's mid-century era. Today, they use the original equipment in Slovakia to put together every pair of shoes carefully by hand.
